Metals Manufacturer Invests in Flexarm System
Reading, PA: Metalworking manufacturer TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa. (TABIndustries.com), has purchased a new Flexarm pneumatic tapping arm. Expanding the company’s range of metal fabricating, cutting, and associated services, the Flexarm Tapping Arm Model S-36 creates high quality threading in a wide range of materials at faster rates than TAB’s CNC machining and manual tapping operations. With its ability to thread laser cut holes, the tapping arm offers added value and convenience to laser cutting and turnkey manufacturing customers.
The tapping system was added as part of the company’s strategy to offer the ideal mix of in-house metal fabricating and secondary services needed to meet the quality and lead time requirements of OEMs, according to Tom Brizek, president of TAB Industries.
Purchased from metalworking and fabricating equipment distributor Norman Machine Tool, LTD, Baltimore, Md., the Flexarm investment includes a semi-automatic tap lubrication system, automatic depth stop, horizontal tapping adapter, and a variety of taps and accessories. The tapping machine was installed in February, 2022 in the company’s 44,000-square foot, Reading, Pa. manufacturing center alongside a slate of other recent equipment acquisitions including laser cutters, a press brake, welding stations, and deburring machinery.
